Day 7

Time to leave Grand Marais. It was an impressive fireworks display from a small town. We set up our chairs on the pebble beach and watch the magic happen. This was all while a group ranging from 5 to 50 impromptu sang patriotic songs. Back in the trailer daisy was happily medicated listening to NPR.
We hit the road following the coastline of Lake Superior. On one side there was nothing but water and the other was mountainous hills with cascading rivers. The first major city we hit in the U.S. was Duluth, MN. We stopped at a restaurant that has been established for over a hundred years. The food was delicious and the beer was good. Both beers where by Cattle Danger, a cream ale and a summer crush wheat. The only thing that was better was the water view. Next we walked to Duluth trading post, an amazing store my step dad introduced me to a few years ago, with the no yank tank and the ballroom jeans.
We then decided that it was time to get this bug bite on my arm checked out. Over three days it just seemed to get bigger and bigger. I was trying to not get myself worked up about it, but I was starting to see the dreaded bullseye... freak'n lyme disease. So I went to urgent care down the street. The nurse was very confident on the bullseye, but the doctor was not convinced. So they drew some blood and sent me away with "just in case it got worse or came up positive antibiotics". By that evening it my arm was more sore and the redness spread so I broke down and committed to the antibiotics :-(.
We stopped overnight coincidentally at a KOA in Austin, MN on I-35. Little too similar to the Austin, TX on I-35. Once DH found out about this, he then call all his family members to give them a bit of a prank saying he was only a few hours from Austin on I-35.
Now off to Mt. Rushmore and the Black Hills.
