Day 6

What a great fourth of July. We were upgraded to a site right on the water. We woke up, walked to the local coffee house, the Java Moose, and had yummy lattes sitting by the shore. We walked back to get ready for a hike. It was off to pincushion mountain that crosses through the #2 best hiking trail, the lake superior trail. The hike was thought heavily wooded territory with a clear mowed path. Many steams were detoured under us using large pipes so the path would not be disrupted. In locations where the steam was too large  there were wooden bridges to cross. Wildflowers were abundant, in reds, purples and white. We reached the top when we had to scramble up a rockface to see the spectacular views of the harbor and surrounding forest.
We came back to a fire, cooked dinner and then waited for the fireworks to unfold.

  1. Jason, I liked the picture of Dani on the hike. The picture of the campfire almost made me think I could smell the fire itself. Love ya"ll
