Day 3

It felt so good to sleep in this morning. We stayed at the KOA near Mackinac Island. It was a friendly place with new owners. They were so new that they had not even made a trip out to the island themselves.

We decided to use the historic Arnold ferry to take us to the land of no cars. Everyone has three options of transportation; walking, biking or horseback. We did a bit of walking making it out to arch rock. It was beautiful as you can see in the picture below. On our way back to town we took a trail that skirted the of a cliff that gave us amazing views of the water as we walked back to have lunch. When we found a dog friendly place it was completely full, but a sweet couple from Kansas offered us a spot at their table. We found out that they owned a small organic produce farm and the wife also taught at Kansas State.

So now we are off to Canada...
